Primary CEHD sites
These sites are primarily maintained by other college staff, but I make more advanced changes when programming is required. All these sites (except for HLKN) run on the CopyWrite CMS described below.
- College of Education and Human Development
- Dept. of Ed. Administration and Human Resource Development
- Dept. of Educational Psychology
- Dept. of Teaching, Learning and Culture
- Dept. of Heath and Kinesiology
Sites I Maintain
These sites are ones for which I am the primary designer and/or maintainer.
- CEHD Data Portal
- CEHD Technology Services Group (Plone)
- National Space Biomedical Research Institute
- eEmpowerment Zone - continuing education delivery system
- i-Folios - used to manage undergraduate online portfolios
- My Personal Site
- Texas Avenue Baptist Church My church
Primary languages
- Perl (EmbPerl/modperl/Apache)
- PHP
- Java (although not a lot lately)
- tcl (limited use for interacting with SIMS)
- C (from a earlier life)
- Visual Basic (when progammatic pieces needed for MS Access)
Database engines
- PostgreSQL (this is what we use for our major database projects)
- MySQL
- Microsoft Access (primarily as a front end to PostgreSQL and MySQL via ODBC)
Miscellaneous/Minor Technologies
- We use CAS almost exclusively for authentication in our faculty/staff/student applications. Our approach is to use CAS for authentication, we then link UIN/netid with internal databases to populated needed attributes.
- I manage the touch screen kiosk (hardware, software, and content in the lobby of our building)
- We are using AvantGo to manage data transfers from PDAs to our databases as part of the evaluation process for our field-based teacher education programs.
Content Management Systems
- Plone (used for our technology group's web site http://technology.cehd.tamu.edu/)
- CopyWrite (used for our college and departmental web sites)
- CopyWrite was written by Brazos Valley Design who we contracted with to design our sites
- The HLKN web site was designed by BVD, but does not run on CopyWrite
